It’s now 2011, xmas is over and the time has come to start training in an operation that we have coined ‘operation Spartan’. Inspired by the 300 film this is a training regime that will begin with 5 mile daily runs and will build up weekly until I am running 10 miles 5 days a week, on top of boxing training and weight training in the 2 days I am not running in the week. I am going to post ‘operation Spartan’ for anyone who comes across this blog to read, and follow if you are in need of slaying any Persians who are trying to fuck your shit up. I shall be running to Rome from Canterbury in 5 months’ time, I have bought some running shoes and went to get myself checked out by a physiotherapist, resulting in being diagnosed with something called osgoodslaughter, which is where your muscle contracts too hard on your shin bone and causes swelling under the knee, basically caused from not stretching. So I am going to go to yoga classes to learn to stretch better and checkout out chicks, I went to a couple of yoga classes at college and exercising in an ocean of women not only eases the muscles but it eases the soul. Learning yoga will also be useful on the actual run itself as we will be running 10 mile early morning and another 10 miles early evening to avoid the heat and give us time to eat and rest, so midday I will host the run to Rome yoga lessons and hopefully attract some passers-by and make some money to fund this ridiculous quest.
My name is Max Hannah and in the summer of 2011 myself and James Anderson ran from Canterbury England to Rome Italy in 59 days. Below are my general ramblings. Enjoy.

It begins
I was lying in bed one day when i received a phone call from James Anderson; James is a good a friend of mine and a man who embarks on epic quests for the sheer thrill of it. The purpose of this call was to inform me of a vision he had while contemplating life, a vision of me and James running to Rome from Canterbury, “we must turn this vision into a reality” he said and I whole heartily agreed to this challenge. I am writing this blog to gain support and awareness for this campaign and hopefully someone out there will follow my blog and maybe i will find another daring individual who will join us on this adventure. If you are reading this then you have taken the first step to the rest of your life, the things you will see on this blog may not be pretty, there will be ups and downs and many hours of painful training regimes as I whip myself into shape for this Run, it will take 8 weeks, running 20 miles a day with supplies and tents and shit like that. You may think that I am a dreamer and this run will never happen, if you believe this then you are a fool and I expect an apology when I reach Rome. I am running for Water Aid and the more followers I get for this blog the more money I can try to get out of you guys so watch your pockets. I will update my page once a week and I will put up videos and dairies and all that crap and I will make a video dairy of the actual Run which will happen in June, and it will happen in June so if your thinking it wont then your wrong and stop being so negative, 1000 miles, 8 weeks, 20 miles a day, HE WHO DARES!
